Middle aged, cradle snatching "cougars" have been ever present in recent years throughout television. As this trend has died down with pop culture, ABC took a stance. Enter Cougar Town, a smart, sex crazed, satirical comedy mixed with clinical realism.
Courtney Cox heads the cast as Jules, a divorcée with a boy complex and a dry sex life. The brash vulgarity of the show creates an endlessly endearing quality, especially when it comes to co-stars. These include Busy Philipps (White Chicks) as the younger trashy best friend and the hilarious Christa Miller (Scrubs) as the nosy neighbour.
Cougar Town is all about getting and having sex. As Courtney's followup to her last show Dirt, you can't accuse her of playing it safe, just sexy.

Mary-Kate and Ashley are an ever-evolving pair of pint-sized wonders.
Individuality is not something I come across very often, especially as I'm a cynic when it comes to the sincerity of others in personality and style, but these two always prove themselves in their personal quests to do the opposite.
I'm very intrigued by Ashley's new hair ventures and Mary-Kate's exploration of masculine styles and boat hats (a tip she seems to have picked up from her boyfriend). I do love that no matter how much they move away from the norm with their style, they stay faithful to beautiful footwear, Ashley in canary yellow Manolos and Mary-Kate in Fendi. The matching Birkins are a nice touch too.

Blake Lively is impressing me lately. But I'm assuming she can't really take the credit as she is main cast member on one of the most well styled shows on television. She's even said herself that her style is the same as her character's.
I must say though, the shoes below are gorgeous.

Although it's summer here in Australia, I'm choosing to ignore that fact as the heat is not my friend. Anything over 27°C (80°F) is too much and here in Melbourne, it's not unusual for temperatures to exceed 38°C (100°F).
So, as I look forward to the next season I'm craving layers in autumn colours. As many of us have, in recent months I've found myself drawn towards 90s grunge with a Dr. Marten epidemic and studded madness ever present. Now I'm leaning more towards a classic Hollywood style with browns, greys and black. Think Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart and James Dean. Crisp shirts and silk blouses, overcoats and belts, fur, cashmere and leather. Oversized scarfs, hats and everything in between with an overall sense of bulk.
I have a new direction for this coming season, even though the current one has only just swung into action. I'm nothing if not a prudent planner.
